Introduction
1.1 Principles and procedures of good housekeeping which contribute to a safe & health working environment.
Housekeeping
- ✓ What is the purpose of good housekeeping
Number of cleaners – A cleaner/contract cleaner is on duty 24/7.
Employees responsibility regarding housekeeping. Employees are responsible for cleaning their own work area.
- ✓ Signs – e.g. cleaning floors/slip trips and falls
- ✓ Clean toilets – I viewed the Cleaning Toilet routine schedule. Toilets are checked and clean every hour.
- ✓ Stairwell free – I checked the Stairways and fire exit points and not accumulation of rubbish or not obstructions.
- ✓ Safety Statement should have a section on Housekeeping – I checked the Safety Statements and a section on Housekeeping was contained within the document. A Housekeeping Standing Operation Procedure (SOP) is in place and all staff must sign of on these procedures.
