Module Aim:
The module aims to consolidate the student’s understanding of the research process by undertaking a literature review and presenting proposed research recommendations related to nursing practice.
Learning Outcomes
⦁ Complete a focused literature review that demonstrates critical analysis and research appraisal.
⦁ Develop research recommendations to investigate an area of nursing practice.
⦁ Formulate a research question that can be investigated empirically and contributes to the knowledge base for practice.
⦁ Develop a thorough and practical understanding of the stages in the lifecycle of a research project.
⦁ Demonstrates professional and academic scholarship appropriate to level 8 through active engagement with teaching, learning, and assessment strategy.
Assessment Strategy Detail
⦁ A 2,000 word literature review including a critical review, appraisal and synthesis of literature on a defined research topic related to nursing practice (80% weighting). Submission date: Friday 15th March 2024 by 12noon.
⦁ A 10-minute online oral presentation and Q&A (20% weighting). The assessment will focus on the presentation of a research proposal addressing the gap identified in the constructed literature review. The oral presentation will be held April 30th (Tuesday) and May 1st (Wed) and May 2nd (Thurs) 2024. You are required to submit a copy of your PowerPoint presentation to Ouriginal by 12 noon on April 26th, 2024.
