Discuss in detail the five (5) basic Supply Chain levers to deal with uncertainty in an organisation, or organisations of your choice. The levers are as follows;
- Capacity
- Inventory
- Time
- Information
- Price
Instructions
The goal of the essay is to demonstrate how you are thinking about putting course concepts, models, tools and practices in your own context to demonstrate the course learning outcomes:
- Demonstrate an understanding of core Supply Chain Management concepts and operating strategies
- Describe common process components for managing supply chain
- Be able to draft a project describing supply chain management goals for an organisation or organisations of your choice
- Demonstrate reflection on own experience, practice, interest and planned professional development as a result of this course
Learning Outcomes 1–3
- For each of the five levers described above, discuss a minimum of one (1) organisation, and a maximum of 5 (five). The number of companies will not impact your grade.
- Ensure to provide enough context about the organisation(s) so that it is clear how you are applying the levers to a specific case in context, as opposed to generalised statements.
- Each lever discussion should present a distinct perspective or focus, with no repetition of content. Avoid restating the same points in multiple sections, each discussion should contribute something new and relevant to its specific topic.
- Ensure to back up your discussions by including references to journals, books, case studies, etc. These should be included in the References section.
Learning Outcome 4
Finally, write a short reflection on your own experience, practice, interest and planned professional development as a result of this course.
