- Contemporary psychology has been criticised for over-pathologising normal emotional responses to difficult life events.
In your answer,

ii) discuss current alternative approaches to conceptualising mental distress; and
iii) reflect on how adopting an alternative approach to categorisation could influence psychological practice.
