The second 6N3945 assessment from DCM Learning is a reflective learner record. Instead of summarising the course, learners explain what they learned about four people-management topics, why it was useful, and exactly how they will use it to become a more effective people manager, with workplace examples.
Task 1: Learner Record
Your learner record should be a self-reflective record in which you describe your learning experiences and insights during the course. It should not be a summary of the course learning; it should describe how you found the learning useful and how you will make use of what you have learned to improve in your management role going forward. Use the Learner Record Log in your course workbook to keep a record of what you learn during the course and how you think it will be useful.
The learner record should be written in the first person and should:
- Briefly describe what you have learned on the course.
- Discuss how you found this learning useful or insightful.
- Discuss, with specific examples, how you will use these insights to make you a more effective people manager.
The Four Parts
- Hersey and Blanchard Situational Leadership Style or Belbin Team Roles (15 marks, 375 words)
- Motivation theories (Maslow / Herzberg) or Delegation (15 marks, 375 words)
- Communication skills: active listening, questioning skills, communication style (15 marks, 375 words)
- Providing feedback: SAID feedback model, fundamentals of feedback (15 marks, 375 words)
Also Required
- Bibliography and references.
Expert Guidance for Your 6N3945 Learner Record
A student shared this brief with our team; personal details have been removed. Our Effective People Management desk works on tasks like this and can guide you on how to approach it.
This learner record loses marks when it reads like course notes. For each of the four parts, name the model in one or two lines, then spend most of the 375 words on yourself: a real situation at work, what the model showed you about how you handled it, and a specific change you will make, such as adjusting from a telling to a coaching style with a newer team member or using the SAID model in your next one-to-one. Keep every part in the first person and close each with a clear action. Our QQI learner record help and QQI Level 6 management assignment support can guide your reflection and referencing.
