Estate Agency Skills Assignment 3

Writing effective copy for sales valuation, property brochure, photography and reflection

Part One

The leaner should write a sales valuation letter pitching for the sale of a property. The value the learner puts on the property is not relevant. The following should be included

  • Key features of the property
  • The property method of sale
  • The reason why the learner should sell it
  • And anything else the learner thinks will help their sales proposal

When choosing a property for this part, the learner should select a property that they can visit with ease e.g. friend or family members’ house

The learner should inspect the property and take notes and photographs to help them remember it accurately.

The learner should take note of the style of writing already employed by their office colleagues for such sales proposals. If they decide to stick with the template and writing style used by their colleagues, they should state why. If they decide to deviate from this, they should state why.

The exact value put on the property or the agency commission ate is not important for this exercise, however both need to be referenced.

The learner should provide the address, photographs, and handwritten notes on the subject property.

Part Two

The learner should create the copy for a sales brochure including a general introductory overview.

To complete this task, the learner should:

  • Take note of the style of writing already employed by their office colleagues for sales brochures. If the learner decides to stick with the writing style of the office, state why. If they decide to deviate from this style, state why.
  • For this exercise, estimate the size and value of the property.

Part Three

While on work placement, the learner should select a property to photography for the purpose of sale (can be the same property used in other parts of the assignment)

The following issues must be addressed by the learner in relation to the property:

  • The best time in the learner opinion for photographing this property and the reason why.
  • The number of photographs the learner expects to use in the sales and advertising material for the property and the reason for this.

The learner must go to the property and photograph it for the purpose of sale, stating which camera type (and lens if relevant) that was used and why.

The assignment must also state the number of photographs taken and include at least three “before and after” photos showing how the learner edited (cropped, brightened etc.) the photographs to improve them.

Part Four

Write a reflective piece on how you feel you have learned from this subject and how you can incorporate this into your office. Include a paragraph on your experience on mentor based subjects.
