Description: |
This module will introduce students to evidence based clinical skills and introductory physical assessment techniques for clinical nursing practice. Students will have the opportunity to develop foundational knowledge and skills for clinical practice as this module will consist of theoretical and clinical skills elements. A holistic approach will be used to enable students to integrate theory with practice and to plan and communicate care accordingly. Students will be introduced to and gain knowledge of the process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care which has a central focus on the provision of safe, quality, person-centered care. Students will develop their knowledge and skills to conduct a patient interview, undertake a comprehensive health assessment, develop physical assessment techniques, complete nursing documentation, plan and communication care as appropriate for the patient. Additionally, a range of clinical skills will be taught to facilitate a focus on safety while providing holistic patient centred care in relation to the activities of daily living. | |
